As a USPS Motor Vehicle Operator (MVO), you are the vital link that handles the bulk freight too large for standard postal carriers. This role involves navigating tight city streets, backing into complex loading docks, and executing rapid, multi-stop commercial routes. Postal Box Truck Operations

• Straight Truck Mastery: Safely operate a massive commercial box truck through heavily congested metropolitan environments. You must master advanced mirror usage, wide-turn radii, and extreme defensive driving to protect the U.S. Mail.
• High-Volume Logistics: You will transport towering, wheeled wire cages (APCs) filled with bulk mail between the central Processing & Distribution Center and local neighborhood post offices.
• Dock & Liftgate Operations: Master the art of the loading dock. You will frequently be required to back your massive vehicle into tight, subterranean post office loading docks, utilizing hydraulic liftgates and heavy-duty pallet jacks to load and unload the mail cages safely.
• Federal Safety Compliance: Conduct rigorous DOT-style pre-trip and post-trip vehicle safety inspections daily on your assigned box truck.

Requirements

Must be 21+ years old. You must possess a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL-B) equipped with Air Brake endorsements. A pristine motor vehicle record with at least two years of safe commercial driving experience is mandatory. You must have the elite physical strength to repeatedly push and pull metal mail cages weighing hundreds of pounds. A comprehensive federal background check and DOT physical are required.
